Nieto’s distinctive use of vibrant, electric color applied in bold strokes and strong assertive lines gave character and dimension to his canvases bringing an intense energy to his subjects; the indigenous peoples and wildlife of North America.
John Nieto’s work has been acquired by collectors on five continents and can be found in the permanent collections of 22 American museums including the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona; the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, Texas; the Marine Corps Museum in Washington, D.C.; and the Capital Art Foundation in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
